Whalley & Ross was founded by Ruari Whalley-Ross with a simple conviction: that true bespoke travel is rare, and too often misused. In an industry where many claim to offer it, but deliver only polished templates, he set out to build something different - journeys that are genuinely individual, deeply creative, and executed with absolute precision.
Ruari’s background spans finance, technology, and service in a British Army reconnaissance regiment - a foundation that shaped both his commercial instinct and his operational discipline. Years of designing complex itineraries for high-profile clients further honed his craft, but it was his frustration with the “off-the-shelf” approach to luxury travel that inspired him to create Whalley & Ross.
Today, he leads a lean, agile team with an eye firmly on the future of the industry. Guided by curiosity, creativity, and discretion, Whalley & Ross works only on a select number of projects each year, ensuring every journey receives the attention it deserves.
An avid diver, skier, photographer, and endurance enthusiast, Ruari brings both first-hand exploration and global insight to his work. Recognised by TTG as one of the 30 Under 30 leaders of travel, he continues to shape Whalley & Ross around a belief that travel should be nothing short of transformative - designed with care, intent, and imagination for those who expect more than the ordinary.
